Overview
Sinusitis can cause blocked nose, facial pressure, headache, thick nasal discharge and reduced smell. Treatment depends on whether symptoms are viral, allergic or bacterial. Persistent or recurrent symptoms need ENT evaluation and sometimes nasal endoscopy.
When to consult an ENT specialist
Consult an ENT doctor if symptoms are severe, recurrent, long-lasting, associated with hearing loss, breathing difficulty, persistent pain, bleeding, dizziness, voice change, or if a child has sleep, speech or hearing concerns.
